Counselor & Owner of Healing Hearts
I have been in the counseling field for twenty years. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Kansas.
I graduated from the University of North Texas (UNT) with a doctorate in counselor education. UNT is the largest play therapy institute in the world. I was taught and supervised by the leading play therapists in the nation: Dr. Garry Landreth, Dr. Sue Bratton, and Dr. Dee Ray.
I specialized in play therapy with children; receiving more than two years of intensive supervision before earning my doctorate.
I have completed the following certifications:
I have a variety of experiences in the mental health field. To name a few, I have worked as a therapist at a county mental health center, adjunct teaching at WSU, and as a sole proprietor at my previous private practice.
I opened my counseling private practice in Augusta in the fall of 2019. My primary focus is helping children, their families, and adults improve their mental health and relationships. I am also a Kansas board-approved clinical supervisor in counseling.
In addition to my career, I am a wife, a mother of four children, two fur-babies. I strive to maintain a balance between motherhood and my counseling practice.
